Firstly your letters should be very plain and simple. Compare them to the use of Arial or Helvetica typestyles in printing, or on the web. These two styles are among the most popular because of their plain, non fussy style, and are pretty easy to read in most sizes. So, avoid fancy flourishes and curlicues, and capital letters should be the rule rather than the exception.
You do not need much space between your letters in a balloon, but on the other hand do not crowd your letters and words. Make all your letters vertical, and avoid mixing slanting (italic) letters with vertical.
For the sake of neatness do not attempt to letter without first drawing some faint parallel guidelines, sketch the letters in lightly with pencil before inking. A good tip is to cut slots in the form of parallel guidelines out of a piece of thin card. A standard business card is ideal. Cut out two or three of these for letters of different heights. Use a pen whose point has become blunted with use for lettering. A new broad-nibbed pen may be used, but never a new fine pointed pen.
When you are lettering your cartoons, you should bear in mind that all drawings intended for publication, with rare exceptions, will be reduced in size before the printing process. Usually your drawing will be reduced by one half, although occasionally it will be a little more or less. So an original drawing of four by four inches will appear as a two by two inch drawing.
The smallest type generally in use in newspapers and magazines is six point type, that is six seventy-seconds of an inch in height. So you can see that in a half reduction scenario you should be drawing your letters no less than twelve point type in size, or twelve seventy-seconds of an inch. If the reduction is to be a bit less than a half then your letters should be drawn about an eighth of an inch high. Smaller type may be used sometimes , but it is always better to err on the side of safety and make your letters slightly too big, rather than too small.
If you cut the slots in your card to these guidelines you won't go far wrong. You will never be thought the worse of (quite the opposite in fact, it shows professionalism) if you ask the paper or magazine you wish to submit to what reduction they usually use. Finally don't forget that it is easier to sketch your words with pencil before inking. You can easily make changes which will not be noticeable, using a good quality eraser prior to inking.

Your Free Party Venues Invitation 2008
Finding party venues is not only about finding the place to hold a party. There are other factors involved. This is why, if you are looking into throwing a party, you should use a party venue finding service, which can make it less a hassle for you. With a party venue finding service, they will take care of many things that you didn't even know had to be taken care of when throwing a party. Some of the things that have to be considered when finding party venues are transportation, cost, parking, the venue itself, accommodation, and event management. If you are looking into party venues, but do not take into consideration some of these factors, then the party may not run smoothly, and you can encounter various problems. These problems can be prevented by using a party venue service. For larger parties, you will need to have several party organizers working to make sure that everything goes according to plan.
Besides the actual venue of the party, transportation needs are very important when looking into party venues. People need to be able to get to and from the party, and there also needs to be ample parking. Many times, depending on the party, the guests will be drinking alcohol, and it may be a good idea to look for party venues that either have shared transportation to and from the party, or is a venue that has, or is near, accommodations. By taking care of these needs, you can be sure that the guests of the party remain safe after they have been drinking. This is another reason why a party venue service can be of help. You can simply let the service know what your needs are, and they can find a venue that will fit those needs.
Many times, when people throw a party themselves, they forget to take care of all the details. From food to transportation, throwing a party is not easy, as it takes a lot of organization. This is especially the case with corporate events. A corporate event is generally larger, and there are more things to take care of when you are hosting the party. A party venue service can make the entire process simple, as the company can simply contact the party venue service, and voila, everything is taken care of from food and transportation to finding the venue.
When you contact a service to find party venues, there are several things that they will do for you. Depending on the service you use, you can find party venues both in the United Kingdom and internationally. A party venue finding service will have employees work for you on an individual basis in order to book the best party venue for you. This aspect can be especially useful when you are booking Christmas parties, since many venues fill up quickly during that time of year. The party venue service will also have contacts to many venues, and they will find you the best price possible for the venue that will fit your party needs. The service will allow you to view all the information on the expenditures of the company for the party and how the money is being spent.
Most party venue finding services will have on staff or know reputable party organizers that will take care of not only the needs of the guests, but the person or company that is throwing the party. It is important, especially for larger parties, that the on-site support staff be there at all times, so they can deal with any problems that may arise. If party venues are not booked by a service, then the only thing taken care of is the venue itself. But, as you can see, there are many other factors that need to be considered when throwing a party. The people, who are at the party, even the ones throwing it, are there to have a good time, and don't want to worry about every detail of the party. This is another reason why it is a good idea to use a party venue service.

Building Relationship Questions
Nancy Anderson has the following to share about her new book and safeguarding your Christian marriage.
Q: Nancy thanks so much for your time and for this great book! You start off right away by introducing yourself as a "cheater". Why did you feel compelled to share your own experience of adultery in this book and how do you hope that this can help readers?
A: The reason I tell my story is to, hopefully, prevent it from becoming someone elses story. I am willing to say, Ive been to the other side of the fence and I can tell you that the grass is NOT greener. Its full of weeds and thornsits a lie. I want to tell couples that if they water their own marriages, they can grow a beautiful, healthy green relationship in their own backyard.
Q: What role should faith play in the marital union? Why is commitment to a Church family so integral?A: When I had my affair, my husband and I were lukewarm Christians who were not attending church. That lack of accountability lead to my self-deceptive thinking. I didnt get Godly council and I took advice from non-Christians. I believed the worlds lie; You deserve to be happy, I sought feelings over truth and selfishness over self-control. I took God off the throne of my life and lived to please myself.
Now, with Christ as the foundation of our marriage and our church as our social and spiritual base, we stand firm and accountable to other Christians.
Q: I know that many couples who are experiencing marital challenges will benefit from their reading of your book, but why should happily married couples invest their time in reading Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome?
A: Because preventing an affair is always better than trying to recover from one. Some security firms hire reformed burglars to show them where their property is vulnerable; I can show you where your marriage may be vulnerable. Also, every husband and wife should know the warning signs that may indicate your mate is having an affair. If you have a good marriage, this book will give you creative ways to make it great. It has many fun and practical ways to keep your marriage fresh and exciting.
Q: You discuss planting "guarding hedges" in some of the areas of one's life where temptation might creep in - could you please say a few words about these, especially the workplace and church environments.
A: Jake and I worked together. He told me that I was funny, pretty and smart. He laughed at my jokes and bathed me in compliments. Those compliments were like magnets and I became very attracted to him. My husband was critical and rarely praised me, so I was starving for positive attention. Im not excusing what I did, but the workplace can be a dangerous environment if you are not being watered at home.
Most affairs begin with a flirtation and flirting can happen anywhere, even at church. Choir members, Sunday school teachers, and committee leaders often work together at church activities, and that can lead to trouble if the relationship becomes too personal. We have to guard our hearts, even at church. If you are attracted to someone, stay away, and dont allow an inappropriate bond to form - we are told to flee temptation.
Q: Thanks again for your time. What do you feel is the single most important factor in creating and maintaining a successful marriage?
A: For me it has been the friendship factor. I not only love my husband, I like him. Our relationship is not just based on passion and romance, its deeper than that. Those things may come and go during the years, but our friendship, trust and devotion are stronger and more stable that our emotions. Love based on caring for each other and a firm commitment to Christ is described in Ecclesiastes 4:12b where is says that a three-stranded cord is not easily broken. If you love God, and each other, in thought word and deed, your three-stranded-marriage will survive and thrive.

Take Good Christmas Pictures
Even if you aren't much of a photographer, just about everyone brings out a camera for the holidays. You're going to want snaps of the kids excited to see what Santa brought or a shot of your husband when he opens the joke gift that you got him. This quick guide will give you some tips and tricks on how to take better pictures during the holidays.
Don't use the flash. All your other relatives are going to be constantly blinding everyone; you want your pictures to be better than theirs and that means not using flash. The problem that usually arises from not using a flash is that your pictures may turn out blurry. This is because parties are usually at night when there's very little light. When there's less light, your camera compensates by leaving the shutter open longer (letting in more light). The easiest way to solve this problem is to place your camera on a tripod or rest it against a table or wall. Take multiple shots, holding the shutter button down and you're bound to get at least one good shot. Be sure you're using both your hands to support your camera. If your pictures are still coming out blurry, try putting your elbows together and pressing them up against your body. You'll be tenser and pictures will be clear.
Use different heights. When taking pictures of people, you typically want to be at eye level. This is fine for group shots or shots of adults, but when it comes to kids (and there will inevitably be kids around), don't be afraid to crouch down and get to their level. Even lying down on the floor can help bring out some great photos. For shots of objects (presents, decoration, dessert) experiment with different angles instead of simply seeing something and snapping a photo (inanimate objects don't typically move, so they're easier to work with). Try a direct top view or try putting the object in the foreground and some people or other scenery in the background.
Edit your images. Many people head straight for the photo booth at the local drugstore after filling up a memory card. If you really want some good pictures, snapping a photo is only half the job. Plug your memory card into a reader or use a usb cable and upload the pictures. Most cameras come with some basic editing software, but there are plenty of free resources on the internet (Google's Picasa is a great free editor). Some of the best quick things you can do are to crop and straighten your photos. Red eye is becoming less of a problem these days, but be sure to go through and fix all the scary eyeballs. The last (and most important) thing you should do is use color correction. Too yellow? Add blue. If you're colorblind, use the auto color correct feature. Color correction makes every picture you take better.
The best photographer is one who experiments. There will always be other people taking pictures, so try angles that no one else is doing. And don't ever let having a cheap camera be an excuse, just learn to master your camera and you'll become a good photographer in no time.

4 Ways to Watch Internet Satellite TV and Free !!

We are not going to talk about the illegal methods of watching internet satellite TV channels such as intercepting TV channels using hacked TV cards. Rather, we will discuss 4 ways to watch TV legally without monthly TV bills. So here they are:
1. Self-Assembled Satellite Dish
Satellite dish can be assembled at home. There are different packages sold on eBay and your local hardware mall. The whole set up unfortunately can be pretty challenging for the unskilled hands. And most of us fall within the category if we are not technically inclined. And it is also not cheap to assemble one on our own. The cost can escalate to $1000 and beyond if we are not careful with our budget. The larger dish can be costly but if the dish is small, we get limited TV channels.
2. PCTV Card
The second option is using PCTV card to watch internet satellite TV. This is a better option compared to setting up our own satellite dish system. This card is just like graphics or sound card for our PCs. For a fine piece of card, a branded one, we should be able to spend no more than $300. However, you do need a high speed internet connection. So sorry for those with dial up connections, this device is not for you.
The PCTV card comes in 2 versions of installation. One is an external card which just needs to be fixed to the USB port. The other is slotted onto your computer motherboard. Needless to say, the internal card is not easy to install and most would find it uncomfortable to set up. But it is cheaper also.
3. Online Satellite TV
You may not be aware but some TV stations have gone online. They are offering you access to watch internet satellite TV at their websites. Stations like JumpTV are quite popular but require you to have a powerful high speed connection. I have tried some of these stations and realized that without a broadband connection, you can forget about watching TV here. On top of that, your computer must already have a media player. Most computers have that but if yours do not, you can download media players such as Windows Media Player, Winamp, DivX or Real Player and so on. While the television programs are free, I find that the selection is too small. And when many people gets onto the same station, it gets really slow as the pictures display in frames.
4. PC Satellite TV Software
This is probably the most accepted option nowadays. This software can not only let you watch internet satellite TV, you get to tune into radio stations as well. For $49.99, you can get to watch programs from well over 3000 satellite TV stations worldwide. Movies, Live sports channels, music videos, global news, cartoons, shopping channels and variety channels are some of the kind of TV programs you get. The set up is incredibly fast as well. Once you download it, you just install the program like what you would do for other software programs and you can start to use it. Even granddaddies and grandmas can do that without guidance. It is that easy! But a word of caution, do check out if your computer configuration can meet the requirements of the software before you purchase. Generally, if your PC CPU is at least a Pentium III, it should not be a problem. Millions of people across the world watch satellite TV and surf the net as well. Since you can bring TV to internet, it is a matter of time they start to watch internet satellite TV and join the hundreds of thousands who are doing so today. Come and see for yourself how it works at my TV blog.
